AutoCAD 2010 Explained
AutoCAD 2010 Explained
By: James Walker
So after waiting a year for it to come, it is finally here. AutoCAD 2010 has a few new things to it this year and I just wanted to give a quick run down of some of the new features.
The biggest change in the program AutoCAD this year is that it will be using a completely new format for files.
They changed the format in 2007 and now they have changed it in 2010, the new file format is expected to stay for the 2011 version and the 2012 version. The new format is not the only new feature this year...if it was, I think we would all be wondering what the AutoCAD developers were doing for a whole year.
Some of the new tools introduced by CAD this year are the wall endcap tool and the room separator. These tools will make creating walls and rooms inside of layouts easier.
They have also advanced all of the navigation tools in this version. They have introduced a "ribbon" that can be moved around and has all the essential navigation tools attached to it.
The dimensioning in the 2010 program has also added a feature that allows you to flip and place the text from your dimensions a lot easier. If you have an angle that reaches over 180 degrees the text would normally flip up-side down, but with this you can have full control over the text when you are dimensioning.
I hope that this article gave you a quick but handy break down of AutoCAD 2010 and the new features it provides.
Thanks for reading.
